“Passion. Ambition. Butter. Do You Have What It Takes?” That is the tag line for the new movie everyone is talking about, “Julie and Julia”, written and directed by Nora Ephron, and bases on a book by Julie Powell. Any foodie knows this movie is a must see! The movie stars outstanding actors such as Meryl Streep, Amy Adams and Stanley Tucci. The movie follows the lives of Julia Child, the French Chef who was the first widely known television cook. The movie also follows the life of Julie Powell, a New York blogger who became famous for making all 534 recipes in Child’s famous cookbook, “Mastering the Art of French Cooking”, in just one year.
The silent stars of the movie is the cooking equipment used to cook these grand meals.

Spring is in the air…at least in the Southeast, it is. Trees are starting to bloom, bulbs are rising, but the temperatures are still cool for the moment. With March just one day away (happy leap day, by the way!), that means just 17 days till St. Patty’s Day and 23 days until Easter. For me, Spring is my favorite season of the year. Everyone is coming out of their homes, playing tennis & soccer, wearing brighter colors, and you begin to see more smiles on people’s faces. The best part of spring in the south, is the foods lighten up as well. Fruits, salads, and veggies take the front row in spring. Except of course, on the spring holidays.
St. Patricks Day: On this day, my house smells deliciously yummy of corn beef and cabbage. Using a stockpot, such as the All-Clad 12-quart Disc Bottom Multi-cooker stock pot, I throw all my ingredients inside including, corn beef, carrots, onions, and cabbage. Its an easy one pot meal, ready to go in just 2 hours! Just be sure not to overcook the veggies. Some chefs recommend brining the corn beef one day in advanced. I’ll be sure to take pictures and blog when I cook on St. Patty’s Day.
Easter: Easter is such a fun holiday, I’m not quite sure where to begin? Is it all the Easter bunny chocolates or the great Easter meals? Some families host Easter brunches, other Easter dinners. This year, I’m hosting an Easter Lunch. I get to incorporate brunch and dinner at the same time. My Easter menu this year will include honey roasted ham, lasagna, stuffed artichokes, hot biscuits, sausage-egg casserole, bakery rye-bread, and strawberry trifle desert.
Great items to equip your kitchen with to host an Easter celebration include:
All-Clad Stainless Large Roaster Combo – perfect for roasting your ham
All-Clad Stainless Lasagna Pan -this roomy lasagna pan holds in all your gravy
