About Panini

An Italian sandwich, the panino (it’s singular form) is commonly made with small loaves of bread like ciabatta or focaccia.  Inside the sandwich, you will usually find salami, or other meats with Italian cheese like mozzarella.  Other ingredients can include red peppers, pesto, and spinach.  The toasted panino is grilled in a sandwich press and served hot.  The sandwich has become rather popular state-side in recent years and can be found in many restaurants and cafes where sandwiches are made.

Making Panino at Home

As these sandwiches have become more popular, many manufacturers have created tools and electrics so you can make delicious, hot panino at home.  Wusthof had this in mind when they developed the Wusthof Panini Knife.  To help with your sandwich pursuits at home, MetroKitchen also features the stovetop All-Clad Panini Pan with Press.  If you enjoy making these delicious sandwiches at home, then this knife is the perfect compliment to your pursuits.
